On the track "psalm" the voices say this.....
A rock,A river,A tree
Host to species long since departed,
But today, the rock cries out to us,clearly, forcefully,
Come,you may stand upon my
Back and face your distant destiny
But seek no haven in my shadow
I will give you no hiding place dow here
You created only a little lower than
The angels, have crouched too long in
The bruising darkness....
Darkness darkness darkness darkness....
Darkness darkness darkness darkness....

Great counter to the excesses of the 1995 'Epic House' era, straight down the line hard edged House, DJ and dance-floor friendly. One solid idea; executed perfectly. A great record.
After hearing this on Jerry Bonham's Spundae CD I knew I had to find the 12". At that time it was not available in the US so I tried Hard To Find Records out of the UK. They had 1 copy of each of the releases from Ispirazione but the track names were not listed, only numbers for the chronological progression of the track... So, I guessed and paid the massive price in Pounds, plus shipping. Turns out I guessed correctly. To this day the track is a favorite. I had the pleasure of seeing Bonham play in Seattle and told him the story. He was extremely cool about it and thanked me. Anyway, if you can find it, buy it.
This classic XVX release certainly ticks a lot of boxes. DJ friendly, superbly produced, great dancefloor drum program, superb synth hooks, building trance/hardhouse stormer. The haunting and poignant vocal on Psalm really makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and sets it apart from other good XVX releases, and only marginally pipped by XVX1 for the best release on this label. Oh and for a 'B' side, Stealth is a mighty fine track too!
'Psalm' is one of the greatest unrecognized progressive trance records of the last ten years. Faultless production, an incredibly well used vocal sample and general dancefloor sensibility all combined in an absolute classic. A perfect record.
